Our SLEs

Teaching schools and system leaders support the Department for Education’s goal to provide every child and young person with access to high-quality provision, achieving to the best of their ability regardless of location, prior attainment and background. Specialist leaders of education (SLEs) play a significant role in making this vision a reality.

SLEs are outstanding middle and senior leaders who have the skills to support individuals or teams in similar positions in other schools. They understand what excellent practice in their area of expertise looks like and are skilled in helping other leaders to achieve it. Each SLE has been through a rigorous selection process and has received training.

We currently have a number of SLEs within our Teaching School Alliance who are able to offer support to other schools. Typical rates are £350 per day but this depends on the nature and type of support.

We are able to offer SLE support tailored to specific needs. This can range from meetings, one-day support visits, delivery of training sessions to a team, 1-to-1 mentoring, or deployment over a longer period of time as part of a package.

To request SLE support, or for more information, please email info@sltsa.org.
